·  The study of pressure-induced phenomena using synchrotron x-ray diffraction, optical spectroscopy,

    inelastic x-ray scattering, and neutron diffraction.

 

·  High-pressure synthesis and application of superhard materials, including diamond and cubic BN

 

·  The development of high-pressure synchrotron experiment techniques: angular dispersive powder x-ray

    diffraction, near K-edge spectroscopy using inelastic x-ray scattering, laser heating of diamond anvil cell

    with in-situ x-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy
